Continuing her road towards success, actress Vanessa Hudgens has moved on from her role on Disney Channel to bigger things.  She's been slated for a couple of upcoming movies and she's more than excited to talk about them.

While she hasn't stepped out of the romance and musical genres, the 20-year-old celebrity maintains her presence in the industry.  She's currently in Montreal, busy filming her scenes for the upcoming film Beastly. It's a modern re-telling of the classic "Beauty and the Beast" with Hudgens as the lead female.

"I think there's a great message in this film, you know, beauty isn't always as it seems to the eye," she said on an interview with ET Online.  Her character is that of Linda, who will try her best to transform the vain and selfish Kyle Kingsbury (Alex Pettyfer).

"Linda's relationship with the beast starts off quite involuntarily," Hudgens revealed.  "They kind of grow to love each other."

"I'm not sure if I actually kiss him in his beast state," Hudgens admitted when asked about her male co-star.  "I actually, still to this day, have not seen him in his beast costume because they're saving it as a surprise for me so the reaction is genuine, so I still don't know what to expect."

Despite the surprise, the actress has already opened up about another kissing scene she recently had to film.  For her other movie Bandslam, she had to lock lips with co-star Gaelan Connell.  Talking about the experience with Showbiz Spy, she admitted that she's already been through that road before with Zac Efron in High School Musical.

"The kissing scene was fine," she claimed.  "It's just part of the job.  It's not like the 'Oh that was so romantic'.  In reality it is so awkward."

Don't forget to catch Vanessa Hudgens on Beastly in theaters on July 30, 2010 and  on Bandslam later this year.
