Heroes: Preview of the Volume 3 Finale
Heroes: Preview of the Volume 3 Finale
The third volume of Heroes has been picked apart by both viewers and critics, but things have been looking up in the past couple episodes.  The heartbreaking final moments between Hiro and his mother in Monday's installment were some of the most touching in the series history, and things are bound to get even better when Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller returns to the show later this season.  Heroes may not be pulling in the massive ratings it once did, but it looks to be clawing its way out of the creative doldrums.

Next Monday, Heroes wraps up its "Villains" arc with a finale that's sure to leave fans breathless until volume 4 starts in February.  To get viewers ready for the show's mid-season blowout, we have an exciting clip and promo from the episode.

NBC's official description of the new episode, which is entitled "Duel," reads: "In the aftermath of the showdown against Arthur Petrelli, the Petrelli brothers find themselves battling against one another and Nathan makes a move that will have global repercussions.  Meanwhile, Sylar (Zachary Quinto) holds Claire (Hayden Panettiere), H.R.G., Meredith and Angela hostage at Primatech and a face-off ensues.  Elsewhere, Ando, Matt and Daphne continue their attempts rescue Hiro (Masi Oka) -- and Dr. Suresh may be their only hope."

In the clip from the episode, Matt (Greg Grunberg), Daphne and Ando (James Kyson Lee) head to Mohinder's loft for help locating Hiro.  Ando thinks things would be easier if he became a time traveler, but Suresh and his magical formula are nowhere to be found.  Daphne thinks that she might be able to find him at Pinehearst, but she'll be taking a dangerous risk by sneaking into the company.

The promo for "Duel" proves that Sylar is back in bad-ass mode, which is definitely a relief.  Will everyone survive the final Heroes episode of 2008, or is someone destined to bite the dust?  We'll have to wait and see.

The volume 3 finale of Heroes airs Monday at 9pm on NBC.
