It's no secret that
Miley Cyrus wants to try her hand on reality TV but that doesn't mean that she has plans to leave her popular alter ego behind anytime soon. Contrary to reports that the 16-year-old actress was angling to get fired from her contractual commitment to Disney's
Hannah Montana, which is presently in the middle of its third season, Cyrus insists that she's hoping that the show will continue into the indefinite future.
"I can't really tell exactly what the future will be like, because I didn't think that at the beginning [the show would be the phenomenon] that it was. I like letting life do its own thing," the
Hannah Montana star said. "[But] I definitely want the TV show to continue as long as it can."
"I think I've matured a lot [over the last year], and I'm really happy,” she added. “I haven't really let my career be super planned out. I never really thought too much into it. I just kinda let life take its toll, and it's done pretty well so far. I think the more you think about it too much, it just becomes so rehearsed. I just like how [my whole career] has been very spontaneous."
At present, Cyrus is concentrating on the upcoming release of the
Hannah Montana movie, which is expected to hit theaters on April 10, 2009. The movie also features her TV co-stars
Mitchel Musso,
Emily Osment,
Jason Earles,
Moises Arias and real life father
Billy Ray Cyrus. The launching of the said film has fueled rumors that the TV series would soon come to an end, though Cyrus doesn't necessarily perceive the movie as the culmination of the hit show.
"Hopefully it's successful and everyone's happy with it," she said of the movie. "We don't really know what'll happen after that."
