A new Disney Channel Original Movie is coming soon, and it's being dominated by stars from its hit series,
Hannah Montana. Headlining the project is
Emily Osment, best known for her role as Lily, best friend to the teen pop sensation.
Dadnapped also stars other actors from the series, like
Jason Earles and
Moises Arias.
Directed by Paul Hoen (
Jump In!,
Cheetah Girls 3),
Dadnapped is the story of Melissa Hamilton and her famous dad, Neil (George Newbern), a best-selling author. She tries her best to spend time with his preoccupied father, even though she's being overshadowed by the fictional Tripp Zoome. To Melissa, Zoome is more than a clever character in her dad's novels. He's like the sibling she has to fight with to get her father's attention.
Even so, Neil takes his daughter on vacation with him. Things start out fine, until his fame gets the better of them. They encounter Neil's overzealous fans, as well as two brothers (
Phill Lewis and Denzel Whitaker) with mysterious motives. This leads to an unexpected kidnapping, causing Melissa to live her own Tripp Zoome adventure in search of her missing dad.
Below, you can find the trailer for the new Disney Channel movie,
Dadnapped. It's scheduled to premiere around February, roughly the same time as its novel, “Dadnapped: The Junior Novel,” is released.
Other than the prominence of
Hannah Montana actors on the movie, you also get to see
Wizards of Waverly Place's
David Henrie and
Jennifer Stone. There's also
The Suite Life of Zack and Cody's Phill Lewis, and Kirsten Storms who played Zenon in many Disney Channel films.
Though Emily Osment rose to fame on
Hannah Montana, she has also been seen in films like
R.L. Stine's The Haunting Hour Volume One: Don't Think About It. She has also voiced characters in the Disney movie
Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch and on Disney Channel's
Shorty McShort's Shorts. Meanwhile, Jason Earles, who plays the protagonist's brother on
Hannah Montana, has been seen on
Phil of the Future,
National Treasure, and
American Pie Presents: Band Camp. Moises Arias, on the other hand, has been featured on several films, including
Nacho Libre with Jack Black, and soon on
The Perfect Game.
Don't forget to catch these
