Hannah Montana: Episode 2.17, "Don't Stop Til You Get The Phone" Recap
Sunday, October 07, 2007
Miley brags about her cell phone, which she feels has the latest technology. Lilly tries to show off hers and ends up breaking it. The girls catch a commercial about a new Z phone, that claims to be the newest, hottest phone on the market. Robbie refuses to buy her the new phone, despite her begging and pleading.
Backstage, Tracy shows off her new Z phone, which leaves Miley drooling. She throws a fit, grabbing and shaking Lilly, talking about how badly she needs it. A photographer jumps out of nowhere, taking a picture of it and publishes it the next day. Tracy gossips to Miley about another girl, whose dad won't let her have a Z phone. Miley is fed up, but Lilly comes up with a brilliant plan: take pictures of her and Hannah Montana and sell them.
Jackson leaves for a day at the beach, forgetting his wallet, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Robbie gives him his wallet and sunscreen but decides he doesn't need the sunscreen. He's sorry later when he returns home, red as a lobster! Meanwhile, Hannah gets to work on her photos. She tries to stage less than glamorous shots of herself, but ends up getting caught upside down after stepping on a rope backstage that drags her up. Lilly snaps the shot, calling it perfect.
Miley and Lilly sell the photo to The National Inquiry but soon after, Lilly realizes that her necklace that says Miley is prominently displayed in the photo. Miley tries to get the photo back but of course, the editor isn't interested in making the trade. She makes a deal with him, offering to get a more ridiculous picture of The Rock for him. Jackson has a hard time hiding his sunburn, when he and his father watch an intense football game. Robbie finally gets Jackson to cave and admit he forgot to wear sunscreen. Jackson takes a milk bath to take the sting out while Robbie pours corn flakes on him, just for fun.
Miley and Lilly dress up as hotel workers and head to the place where The Rock is staying. They try to give him a manicure, pedicure, and facial, which he says he doesn't have time for. Miley refuses to take no for an answer and gets The Rock to cave in and agree. They make him promise to keep his eyes closed and put makeup, hot pink nail polish, wig, and earrings on him. They grab a picture of him and then run for their lives.
On the way out, he yells out, "Can't you people ever just give me a break?" which is the same thing Miley said to a paparazzi earlier in the episode. Miley immediately feels bad and says she can't sell the picture. She'd rather have people know her identity, than be as slimy as those photographers. They give the picture back to him, explain their predicament, and The Rock hangs the editor of The National Inquiry until Miley gets her picture back. Crisis averted!
