In the Grimm Season 3 premiere
, Nick turns into a monster not unlike those that he's been hunting for 3 years. Juliette, Monroe and Rosalee, with the help of Renard try to track down the wayward Grimm, while Adalind takes part in an important, if disgusting, ritual.
Begin at the Beginning
The episode began right where last season's finale left off, actually going back a few minutes to show details that weren't seen in that episode. Those details included Renard ending up at the docks and more of what happened with Nick and The Baron. Luckily, Renard was there to see Eric and his goons lug a large box into a truck. He didn't realize what it meant at the time (to be fair, he was fighting off a few zombie-like humans), but those details became important later.
A Hard Day's Night
This entire episode took place at night and it seemed to last forever. After Nick was spirited away in his box by Eric and The Baron, poor Monroe, Juliette and Rosalee were left to battle a herd of zombie-people on their own. It seemed like every time they nearly got control of the situation, something else would happen until finally Hank came with half the Portland P.D. to save them. With the help of the men in blue, the group was finally able to get the snarling people locked into a crate.
Zombies Make Lousy Passengers
After the zombie-people were safely locked away, everyone converged and pieced together what happened to Nick. They all raced to the airport but sadly weren't able to stop the plane with Nick on it. Frantic calls were made to see about getting a flight manifest, but they weren't necessary because zombie-Nick was staging an escape of his own. Much to the surprise of The Baron, Nick awoke from his coma early and began banging on his steel coffin. The Baron tried hitting Nick with a second dose of poison, but it only seemed to enrage him further and soon the fight was in the cockpit and the plane went down.
Bar Brawls and Bloody Rituals
While Nick and his friends were facing all of their troubles, Adalind was going through an interesting situation of her own. She may have killed Frau Perch, but that wasn't all that was needed to get her powers back. Adalind had to go through a ritual that included chopping off the old lady's hands, feet and cutting out her eyes. Then she had to bury everything in a field and wait. At the end of the episode, the signs seemed to point to her getting powers, if the field of dead flowers was anything to go by.
Meanwhile, Nick's friends tracked their zombified friend from the site of the plane crash to a bar where he got into a one-man brawl with nearly everyone in the place. Unfortunately they weren't fast enough to catch him before he took off into the woods once again and the final moments showed Nick heading toward the home of a family with malice in his eyes. Will his friends be able to stop him before he hurts more innocent people? You'll have to wait until next episode to find out.
