Chyler Leigh was born on April 10, 1982 in Charlotte, North Carolina. The daughter of Bob Potts and Yvonne Norton, she grew up in Virgina Beach, Virginia until she was 12 years old. At that point, she moved with her mother and her brother, fellow actor Chris Kayman Lee, to sunny Miami, Florida. Leigh began working as a model when she was in the eighth grade, and later moved on to acting. Among the films she has acted in are Kickboxing Academy and Not Another Teen Movie. Leigh has also performed in television productions such as 7th Heaven, That 80s Show, and The Practice.

Lexie Grey is portrayed by Chyler Leigh in the ABC network’s medical drama show Grey’s Anatomy. She is the daughter of Thatcher and Susan Grey, as well as the younger half-sister of series protagonist Meredith Grey. Lexie graduated from Harvard Medical School, and also has one younger sister named Molly Thompson. Lexie is introduced during the third season of the show, and works as an intern at Seattle Grace Hospital. Her mother Susan passed away just as she was about to begin her internship. Lexie initially meets Derek Shepherd at the Emerald City Bar, and when she meets George O’Malley, he becomes aware of her link to Meredith.
