At the end of each year,
Barbara Walters hosts a special on ABC, interviewing the people that she deems the most fascinating people of the year. This year, that special will air on ABC on Thursday, December 6.
Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2007 will feature Justin Timberlake, Jennifer Hudson, and
Grey's Anatomy star
Katherine Heigl. The special will also include two surprise guests.
Heigl had a year that put her in the spotlight. She starred in the movie
Knocked Up, with Seth Rogan, which received critical acclaim and did very well at the box office. She also won the 2007 Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Dr. Izzie Stevens on
Grey's Anatomy. Heigl is engaged to singer/songwriter Josh Kelley and their wedding will take place next month, just before Christmas.
Perhaps Katherine Heigl has caught the eye of Barbara Walters, and the rest of the world, for her outspoken nature. During Isaiah-gate, she gave interviews to anyone who would ask, firing off about his inappropriate on set behavior and praising her best friend, T.R. Knight, for the way he was handling things. While the rest of the cast of
Grey's Anatomy gave short, polite, sugar-coated answers during the fiasco, Heigl told it like it was. She even corrected the announcer at the 2007 Emmys, after her name was announced and had to be bleeped out when she swore after her name was called as the winner. Heigl has never been afraid to be anything but herself, something Walters must find admirable.
Besides Heigl, Barbara Walters will also speak to Victoria and David Beckham, former President Bill Clinton, and the masterminds behind MySpace, Tom Anderson and Chris DeWolfe. Last year, Walters dubbed one of Heigl's co-stars one of the most fascinating people of 2006,
Patrick Dempsey.
