Grey's Anatomy Soundtrack: Volume 3 will be released on September 11 by Hollywood Records.
Grey's Anatomy has always made music an integral part of its show and has introduced fans to a bevy of new bands and artists. The first two volumes of the
Grey's Anatomy Soundtrack have been big sellers and viewers have waited in anticipation of a third installment for some time. “Breathe In, Breather Out” by Matt Kearney will be the first single off the disc and the video for the song, featuring footage from
Grey's Anatomy, will be available for free download on iTunes September 20.

There will also be a special edition version of the CD available only on iTunes, featuring two bonus tracks: Patrick Watson's "The Great Escape" and Alamo Race Track's "Black Cat John Brown." Creator and Executive Producer Shonda Rhimes hand picks the songs that end up on these compilation albums, but music supervisor Alex Patsavas is the one selecting songs for use on the show. A box set containing all three
Grey's Anatomy Soundtrack albums will also become available on September 11.
Grey's Anatomy has become the place for up and coming musicians to get their songs played. If you get a song on
Grey's Anatomy, you can rest assured that legions of fans will check out your music and, at the very least, give it a shot.
Grey's Anatomy season 4 premieres Thursday, September 27 at 9pm.
