All set for the Grey's Anatomy two-hour season finale Thursday?  Maybe so, but just in case you have forgotten any odd detail (What? Izzie has cancer?!), here's a quick refresher on all the Grey's Anatomy season 5  stuff you need to know to get yourself updated on the happenings on Seattle Grace.  Currently, this is how the denizens of our favorite ABC medical drama stand:

Izzie (Katherine Heigl).  Izzie has stage IV metastatic melanoma. She was told her chances of survival is at a slim 5 percent. On the last few episodes, she was visited by her equally high-strung mother, planned the MerDer wedding, and got married to Alex (Justin Chambers).  On the finale, easily one of the most anticipated storylines to unwrap is that of Izzie. i.e., whether she'll survive or not and whether she'll leave Grey's for good or not.

Not all titles featured on BuddyTV are available through Amazon Prime.

George (TR Knight).  George has recently discovered a new calling at trauma, with a little prodding from Owen (Kevin McKidd).  On the last episode, it was a little painful to watch him help bride Izzie walk down the aisle en route to her waiting groom - Alex.  This particular season saw a decline in screen time for Dr. O'Malley, and this has led to speculations that he is leaving Seattle Grace to maybe go to Iraq.

Meredith and Derek (Ellen Pompeo and Patrick Dempsey).  Supposing you live under a rock, MerDer was supposed to get married on the last episode of Grey's Anatomy, but Meredith, whom creator Shonda Rhimes recently described as "all grown up," decided to forego her own wedding and give the day to Izzie, who they figured out was dying and was more excited than Mer anyway.

Cristina and Owen (Sandra Oh and McKidd).  Season 5 saw the exciting buildup of Cristina and Owen's relationship.  From the sudden kiss in the second episode, to the furtive flirting in the halls, the slight brushing of hands, and finally the consummation of their relationship toward the end.  Thanks to Owen's PTSD, however, the ex-army doctor almost chocked Cristina to death, and she broke up with him because she couldn't sleep in his arms.

Callie and Arizona (Sara Ramirez and Jessica Capshaw).  After the surprising departure of Erica (Brooke Smith) during the first part of the season, Callie found a replacement in the person of Arizona from peds.  The two had misunderstandings initially, but eventually patched things up, and Callie introduced Arizona to her father, who's not exactly ecstatic that her only child bats for the other team.

Mark and Lexie (Eric Dane and Chyler Leigh).  Like the above couple, the relationship of these two encountered a few bumps initially, with some people not approving the relationship. Derek and Mark even got into a fist fight because of the relationship.  Mark, however, straightened up, and he was recently introduced to Thatcher Grey.

Bailey (Chandra Wilson).  This season saw Bailey finding a new calling, as she pursued a fellowship in Pediatric Surgery.  It all started this season, when the Chief assigned her to work on a girl with an inoperable tumor.  Much later, she teamed up with Arizona to save a patient who was very dear to him (remember, this happened in conjunction to the death-row-patient-with-healthy-organs debacle).

Denny (Jeffrey Dean Morgan).  As it turned out, the Dead!Denny that liberally loitered around the halls of Seattle Grace this season is not a ghost, but a warning, a hallucination that should've told Izzie that she's ill. We were a little skeptical, though, when once he appeared even if Izzie wasn't on the scene.

Now that you're updated on where these people stand, you're ready to watch the Grey's Anatomy finale.
