Only one week until the Gossip Girl Season 2 finale, "The Goodbye Gossip Girl," hits our small screens, and there are still plenty of scandalous storylines that need to be resolved: Georgina Gone Bad, Ponzi-Poppy, Lovechild, Yale Money, Proposal, Queen of the Steps, Uncle Jack on New Year's Eve, and Taking Down Gossip Girl...

(All because we were cheated out of our Senior Prom by a crappy 80's spin-off!)

But next week, the real Gossip Girl is back, and those other storylines are all just warm-ups for the big bang in the big finale when, according to the CW, "Blair and Chuck finally..."

Find out more after the (SPOILER ALERT!) jump.

From TV Guide:

Q: You made a recent, potentially sarcastic remark about Gossip Girl's Serena and Nate happening. I need to know if there is anything to that remark, because I am more hopeful than I should be about Serenate finding their way back together. Please help!

A: Hope springs eternal, Megan! I will downgrade my previous sarcastic remark to say that the possibility of Serenate is alive and well through the end of the season. But Serena's season-finale suitor is someone entirely different - and surprising. If it's a happy ending you're looking for, forget it. Although Blair hears some magic words, her fall is looking increasingly shrouded in dread. Welcome to NYU, B.!

From E! Online:

Q: Anything you can share about the Gossip Girl  finale?

A: You know how we saw those Gossip Girl set photos in which Blair is kissing both Chuck and Nate on the street? One of them was a total fake-out. Teehee!

leighton-meester-kissing-pics.jpgIn other season finale news, Little J comes into her own (there's a nice rapprochement between her and Blair), Gossip Girl calls Nate a whore, and you do not realize the Lily-Rufus spawn is already there until the very last minute.

In addition to all of that, there's a hint that several familiar background faces might become recurring - or even regular - characters in Season Three.

Watch the Extended Promo:

The CW Synopsis for Episode 2.25, "The Gossip Girl Goodbye":

Gossip Girl decides to liven things up at the Constance Billard and St. Jude's graduation
by sending out a shocking and damaging email blast in the midst of the commencement ceremony, stirring Serena to come up with a plan of attack.

The Mean Girls challenge Jenny to throw her hat in the ring to succeed Blair as Queen Bee next year. Lily and Rufus struggle to repair their relationship after Lily's betrayal.

As for the cliffhangers:

    * Blair and Chuck finally ...
    * Serena is shocked by ...
    * Georgina decides to ...
    * Dan, Nate and Vanessa unknowingly ...

Plus some finale spoilers from E! Online:

Q: I need to know if Chuck and Blair are ever going to work things out on Gossip Girl!

A: We can promise that this year's Gossip Girl finale is not going to be a repeat of last year's disaster: This time around, Chuck does not screw over Blair.

In fact, we can promise that if you love Chuck and Blair, you will love the finale, and you will be compensated for all your pain and suffering this past year.

Q: What's the deal with Rufus Humphrey and Lily van der Woodsen on Gossip Girl? Are they going to move in together or what?

A: That's all going to feel very secondary after the Gossip Girl finale, when we will meet (finally) the spawn of Rufus and Lily.

And the latest from EW's Michael Ausiello:

Question: Scoop on Gossip Girl please. --Bri
First, a correction about something I said last week. Turns out, Chuck does not try and sabotage Blair's campaign for prom queen. It's actually just the opposite.

Question: Any Gossip Girl season finale scoop? --Patricia
The episode revolves around the gang trying to smoke out Gossip Girl.

From E! Online:

Young actor Chris Riggi will appear in the Gossip Girl finale as Scott, the long-lost love child of Lily (Kelly Rutherford) and Rufus (Matthew Settle), sources confirm to us exclusively.

Yep, on-again, off-again couple Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) and Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) will soon come face-to-face with their half-brother, with whom they each share a parent. As Cyrus Rose might say: Oy.

Q: What can you tell us about the Gossip Girl finale?
Chuck and Blair! What else is there to say? OK, how about that the spawn of Rufus and Lily will be played by an unknown--extrapolate from that what you will about said spawn's future on the show. (Of course, nobody had ever heard of Jessica Szohr before G.G., and now she's a big star with endorsement deals and everything.)

Q: Does Serena do any damage to Gossip Girl when she tries to out her in the G.G. finale?
No, not really. Gossip Girl escapes Serena's attack relatively unscathed--but then again, nobody effs with Kristen Bell and gets away with it. (Except Sylar.) Oooh! Speaking of Kristen Bell, she is magnificent as Uta of Valhalla Catering in the Party Down finale, and there's an opening at the very end for her to recur in the likely (but not assured) second season. Yay!
