The comedic equivalent of Sophie's Choice hits TV fans Tuesday, October 23 at 9pm. With the premieres of
Happy Endings and
Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 on ABC, the funniest hour of TV is about to get even funnier.
Three of the funniest shows are competing at the same time, and fans will have to decide which one to watch. At 9pm, ABC premieres the third season of
Happy Endings, FOX has the second season of
New Girl and NBC has freshman comedy
Go On.
An equally challenging battle will come at 9:30pm when the premiere of
Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 goes up against
The New Normal (and, eventually,
The Mindy Project on FOX, though that show is postponed tonight for
The X Factor).
Luckily, with DVRs, On Demand and Hulu, it's possible to watch all of these comedies (which you should absolutely do), but it will be interesting to see which one viewers choose to watch immediately. Of course the sad part is that the ratings for
NCIS: Los Angeles will probably equal all three 9pm comedies combined.
The season 3 premiere of
Happy Endings offers everything fans love about the show, from nonstop pop culture references (
Frasier,
The Wire,
Rizzoli and Isles and
Misery, just to name a few) and highly dysfunctional relationships, whether it's Dave and Alex's attempt at casually dating again or Brad and Jane's wonderfully absurd marriage (now involving Brad's ventriloquist's dummy, SinBrad).
Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 continues with its trademark harsh cruelty as a potential
Dawson's Creek reunion looms and Mark-Paul Gosselaar makes a cameo.
So what comedy will you be watching first Tuesday nights?
