Reggie Hayes was born on July 15, 1969 in Chicago, Illinois. Previously, he appeared in movies like Charlie's Angels and Being John Malkovich. He also guest starred on Will and Grace as a doctor. Ultimately, he became part of the television series Girlfriends as William Dent.

William Dent is Joan's closest male friend. He is the senior partner at Goldberg, Swedelson, McDonald and Lee. He depicts a mama's boy character that is self-confident with a dry sense of humor. After dating countless women, he realizes that Joan is the right girl for her.
