Golden Brooks was born on December 1, 1970 in San Francisco. As an actress, she preformed alongside Queen Latifah, Vivaca A. Fox and Kevin Bacon. Prior to being an actress, she studied literature and sociology at UC Berkeley and acquired her master's degree at Sarah Lawrence College in Bronxville, New York. Ultimately, she became part of the sitcom Girlfriends as Maya Wilkes.
