Girlfriends returns for an 8th season as part of the CW's Monday comedy night. The comedy centers on the lives of three successful African-American women living in Los Angeles. The title girlfriends are Joan (Tracee Ellis Ross), Lynn Searcy (Persia White) and Maya (Golden Brooks). Also starring is Reggie Hayes, who plays William, Joan's closest male friend.
At the end of the show's seventh season, Joan decides to go away to Catalina for the weekend with a former flame who wants to marry her, but Maya and Lynn want to stage an intervention. Darnell, Maya's husband played by Khalil Kain, and Maya find their dream house, but when he gets the chance to by a garage, he struggles with the decision of which purchase to make.
