Lauren Graham was born on March 16, 1967 in Honolulu, Hawaii. She discovered her interest in acting while she was still studying at Langley High School. She took up dancing, cheerleading, and later she performed in theaters. Prior to being an actress, she worked as a cocktail waitress. She moved to Hollywood to pursue acting and has been seen in countless shows since then. She appeared in movies like Bad Santa, Sweet November and The Pacifier. Ultimately, she is best known for her roles as Lorelai Gilmore in the television series Gilmore Girls.

Lorelai Gilmore is an independent mother who raised her daughter Rory Gilmore alone. Though she has an "on and off" relationship with Rory's father, Christopher Hayden, she continuously remain friends with him. Having Rory during her teens resulted to a close mother-daughter relationship.
