It’s safe to say that on
General Hospital, Dr. Patrick Drake and his father Noah have had their issues. Noah hasn’t exactly won any awards for his parenting skills and Patrick is about to become a father himself. In fact, Noah’s poor parenting skills are exactly the reason that Patrick had a difficult time when Robin Scorpio first told him that she was pregnant. However, Patrick was determined not to follow in the footsteps of his father and tried to commit himself to Robin. He proposed to her, at the hospital, but she turned him down, feeling that he was only asking her out of obligation. When Noah got on board to help Robin and Patrick come together, it started to repair a broken relationship between a father and his son. However, a shocking revelation on today’s episode tore the two apart and, perhaps, caused irreparable damage.
When an arsonist struck the free clinic that Nikolas Cassadine built in memory of his dead fiancé, Emily Quartermaine, he rushed in to save the two people trapped inside: Matt Hunter and Nadine Crowell. The pair, a doctor and nurse, were rushed to General Hospital to be treated for any injuries sustained in the fire. Patrick took a sudden interest in helping Matt, who had been at odds with since Dr. Hunter first came to town several weeks ago. When Robin asked why he was so interested, Patrick said that he wanted to show some empathy, saying that he saw himself in his colleague.
Noah returned to General Hospital this week from had just returned from a stint in Mynamar, for Doctors Without Borders. Shortly after arriving, Noah heard that a doctor was seriously injured in a fire and went to check in on him. Imagine the shock on his face, when he realized that it was Matt Hunter, who just happens to be the son he never told anyone about. It didn’t take long for Patrick to figure out that the two knew each other and was shocked, hurt, and angry at the revelation that he had a brother, compounded with the realization that Noah cheated on his mother. Will the Drake family be able to recover from this news? Will Patrick and Matt become true brothers, or continue to be enemies? We’ll see how this affects Noah, Patrick, and Matt this week on
General Hospital.
