On November 8, KISS bass guitarist and vocalist
Gene Simmons will be at the grand opening of The Dussault Apparel™ Motel Store on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles. For the event, parts of Melrose Avenue will be closed down to make room for the latest buzz brand founded by Jason Dussault, who has co-released the clothing line Moneybag with Simmons.
During the event, Simmons will be filming for the new season of his reality series,
Gene Simmons Family Jewels, which airs on the A&E network and costars his long-time partner
Shannon Tweed and their children,
Nick Tweed-Simmons and Sophie Tweed-Simmons.

The Dussault Apparel™ Motel Store will hold women's and men's Ready-to-Wear collections, as well as a jewelry, luggage and headwear. The interiors of the store have been inspired by Rob Zombie's famous horror flicks and contains finely-stitched silk linings and custom made embroidery. Patrons will also come across such 1970s' diner furnishings as an old jukebox and vinyl booths, and will be able to shop through “a roadside motel honeymoon suite” and “motel checkout.”
The store's dressing rooms are lined by vintage skin mags, while the walls have been decorated with buzzing neon signs. There is also an old all-in-one radio turntable that spins old tunes.
The store's VIP section looks like “a ski lodge straight out of the early Warren Miller days” and is the place where custom pieces are showcased, liquor is available, and celebrities can shop in style.
"I have been working on the store design for the last 8 months and I truly believe it will be the most unique shopping experience in Los Angeles,” Dussault said. “I look forward to sharing my art, inspiration and fashion line with the people of LA.”
Dussault also said that his company's mission is “to design, develop, manufacture, market, distribute and sell distinctive and innovative products that redefine luxury in the fashion world.”
The opening party will take place from 8pm to 2am. Joining Gene Simmons at the event are 500 or so of Dussault's other close friends, including
Criss Angel, who will also film for his series
Mindfreak, and DJ Skribble.
Although Gene Simmons and Dussault met only a year ago, the latter has idolized the
Family Jewels star since he was in high school. Simmons, on the other hand, said in a recent interview that Dussault is an ideal business partner because they have the same vision.
“Most people worry about jobs, we simply love work. There's a difference. We don't look at the clock,” the
Family Jewels star told the
Vancouver Sun. “And that's the kind of partner I want to be involved with, a guy that actually sees the big picture and [will do] whatever it takes, no matter how long. That will think out of the box, go for it.”
