'Fringe' Video Preview: We Meet Again, David Robert Jones
If I told you that the guy who plays Moriarty in the recent Sherlock Holmes films was on Fringe, would you watch live?

Yep, he is -- he always has, actually. And on last week's Fringe, one of the series' most enigmatic villains, David Robert Jones, is back.

The last time we saw him, he was trying to cross over to the other side, only to be split in half when the portal closed on him. But things have changed now that Peter no longer "exists" -- he's crossed over successfully, and now his shapeshifters are invading both universes, partly in thanks to having alt-Broyles in his pocket, if not replaced by a shifter entirely.

To everybody else, whether on our side or the other, he's a new threat -- a guy whose strong ties with the ZFT makes him a danger to both sides. (Only, if I remember correctly, ZFT is required reading on what was other side.) To Peter, he's a guy he's stopped before. Could he do it again?

Well, he has to. While (the new) Walternate promised to help Peter "get back home" in last week's Fringe, Jones' return should force him to do different things for a while. And with the fact that he's the only person who knows what Jones might be thinking, they will really need his help now. (Or they'll think he's with the bad guy. He's still a Fringe event, after all.)

Tonight's Fringe, "Enemy of My Enemy", doesn't give us a pretty clear idea what will happen, but these three sneak peeks should make things a bit easier to figure out.

The first clip is set on the other side, with Jones showing off to Altlivia and Alt-Lincoln. I have a feeling now that shapeshifters are just the first stage in his plan:

The second clip brings us back to our side, and to Walter, who's just discovered the wonders of molecular gastronomy -- considering that the guys loves cooking, why this only occurred to him today, I will never understand.

The third clip is, like the first, set on the other side. Peter and Lincoln prepare to go home, only to see a (not-so-)new enemy in their midst.

And there's extra footage from tonight's episode on this fourth clip, where the actors talk about having Jared Harris back as David Robert Jones. Should also work as a refresher of sorts on what Jones was up to back in the first season. The extra footage come from the 1:06 mark, where Peter confronts Jones, who also doesn't have an idea who he is:

Clearly, Peter cannot go home now. Or, wait. He still can, right?

Fringe returns tonight from 9pm on Fox. Again, it's got Moriarty from Sherlock Holmes in it. Go watch! Live, preferably.
