'Flash Forward' aka "The Next 'Lost'" Leaps Forward in Ratings
Well, it's not so shocking to hear how Flash Forward has been doing well lately.  It's one new show that's been hauling in viewers thanks to its interesting premise (the characters, we've yet to see them evolve) and connections to ABC's hit Lost.  Maybe the cult following of that show might just make its way to this rising star of a series.

Digital Spy reports how the second episode of Flash Forward, titled "White to Play," dragged in 10.78 million viewers for ABC that 8pm on Thursday.  According to the data, that's about 87% of the audience who stuck around to watch, since the 12.41 million viewers at the premiere.

While the show was beaten by a reality series (curses, Survivor: Samoa!), there's still a lot of hope for Flash Forward.  There may be a few things missing from the show before it can be considered as the next Lost, but it could be getting there soon.

For one thing, it has a prime slot airing before Grey's Anatomy, which already has a pretty solid fanbase.  It's also shown at the same time as 30 Rock and Parks and Recreation, which don't really do all that well in ratings.  The only other competition it has is, as I said, Survivor.  But since that reality show might be past its glory days, then Flash Forward really has a chance of developing that same following as Lost's.

What this new series is lacking is further development on the story and the characters.  It's still way too early to say, but if it doesn't catch your attention at the beginning then it could be lost.  No, not Lost.  Just lost.

But fortunately, Flash Forward is slowly showing how capable it is to appeal to audiences.  Not since Heroes did a serialized drama try to match the popularity of Lost.  Too bad that didn't work out so well in the long-run.  Hopefully, and it sure looks like it, Flash Forward could do better.
