Actor William Shatner was born on March 22, 1931 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and was educated at McGill University where he earned a degree in commerce. He was trained as a classical Shakespearean actor and performed at the Shakespearean Stratford Festival of Canada in Stratford, Ontario. His official movie debut was in 1951 on a film entitled The Butler's Night Off. Later, he appeared on a feature film entitled The Brothers Karamazov. He also performed on the Broadway production of The World of Suzie Wong. After playing the role of Captain James Kirk for the second pilot of Star Trek, he was given the role of Kirk on Star Trek series, which he played for three years. After a successful career on Star Trek, Shatner appeared on television series like 3rd Rock from the Sun, The Practice and Boston Legal. While not on the set, he likes playing tennis, yoga, skiing and horse-riding. He also is involved with the charity such as Ahead With Horses and the American Tinnitus Association.
William Shatner appears on Fast Cars and Superstars: The Gillette Young Guns Celebrity Race, the new reality series from ABC. He is among twelve celebrities out to train and race with six Gillette Young Guns. Other celebrities joining the stock car race are Jewel, Krista Allen and John Salley.
