Last week on
Eureka, we saw a mysterious spandex-clad man as he pranced around town, attempting to be Eureka’s very own Superman and saving innocents. Little did he know, he was causing some trouble of his own. In fact, Carter’s (
Colin Ferguson) job becomes a little bit more stressful because of this masked character tries to save the day and stir up a frenzy along the way.
Tonight on
Eureka, the adventure in the small town continues as Zoe (
Jordan Hinson) keeps focused on the mayoral race, leaving her science lab partner to accidentally create another sun! Carter and Zane think they can destroy the blazing orb, but they need to arm themselves with heavy duty protection gear to get close enough to the suns.
So how does the man behind Sheriff Jack Carter deal with these kinds of things? Colin Ferguson says that it is quite a challenge having to appear stunned at every odd occurrence in the show.
"That stuff gets really hard after a while," Ferguson admitted to Canada.com in a recent interview. "Seeing how many times Jack can interview someone saying, 'I see. You didn't know anything was going to happen? Hmm.'"
Nonetheless, Ferguson says that every surprise that the writers come up with makes it easier for him to deal, saying that “it makes you play things differently and as long as you can have a sense of humour about being there again, I think that gets you out of it.”
As for the back and forth relationship of the sheriff with Allison Blake (
Salli Richardson-Whitfield), he says that it was quite hard for Carter to deal, because of the differences in their status.
"It was a hard sell, for me, when Allison was the head of the most important company in town and I'm the sheriff," he explained. "Because I think the sheriff sort of has to end up with the girl next door. She has to be someone sort of normal, sort of low key."
Fans are still hoping for a love interest for Carter, but in the meantime, check out a preview of tonight’s episode by clicking on the link below.
