A few days ago we saw another fresh episode of
Eureka, brought to us by the Sci-Fi Network. We saw Zoe (
Jordan Hinson) in a busy haze for the mayoral race, thus leaving her science lab partner to accidentally create another sun. We also saw Sheriff Jack Carter (
Colin Ferguson) and Zane Donovan (Niall Matter) don themselves with some protective gear to literally put out the sun.
While we aren’t bringing you a sneak peek into next week’s episode of Sci-Fi’s
Eureka, we do have some good news for
Eureka fans out there who are just eager for a show of the same genre. In fact, the network recently announced that they are working on a new series which will serve as a companion show for the already successful
Eureka.
The Sci-Fi channel recently sent a green light to produce an hour-long drama entitled
Warehouse 13, for which they ordered 11 more episodes on top of the produced two-hour pilot. The series will bring us Eddie McClintock and Joanna Kelly, who will play secret service agents who are tasked to secure a large, top-secret South Dakota storage facility filled with artifacts and relics.
Saul Rubinek, a Canadian actor who is known for his work on series
Frasier,
Curb Your Enthusiasm,
Blind Justice and in the film
Ticket to Heaven, will also appear alongside McClintock and Kelly. Eddie McClintock has appeared as guest on series such as
Sex and the City,
My Boys,
Desperate Housewives and
Bones. Joanna Kelly, on the other hand, will be taking on her first television series with this project. Production for the series kicks off in February in Toronto, with a scheduled release date in July.
Warehouse 13 is produced by Universal Cable Productions and is executively produced by David Samkins. Jace Alexander will direct the series, while Brent Mote, Jane Espenson and David Simkins wrote the pilot.
"This is a perfect companion show for 'Eureka,' and it fits into our larger agenda of broadening our network," said Mark Stern, exec VP of original programming for Sci Fi and co-head of original content for Universal Cable Prods.
If fans can’t get enough of this new Sci-Fi series, then wait for other space-themed projects
Revolution and
Caprica to begin production.
