ER, television's longest-running medical drama, which has earned more Primetime Emmy Award nominations than any other program in history, has just been added to ION Television's primetime lineup in June. But fans won't just be enjoying a few weekly episodes of the medical drama as the network kicks off with a marathon of back-to-back episodes featuring guest stars who have either won or been nominated for Emmy Awards.
The marathon starts with three episodes at 8pm to 11pm on June 9, 10 and 11, followed by two episodes from 8pm to 10pm on June 12.
ER will then air in its regular timeslot Monday through Wednesday at 10pm beginning June 16.
"The four-day
ER marathon of these memorable, hand-picked episodes ushers in an all-time fan favorite for ION Television viewers," ION chairman Brandon Burgess said. "This intense series, with its star-studded cast and high-profile guest stars, takes us to the next level of becoming a positively entertaining television network."
Fans will be able to relive the drama and reunite with their favorite stars as the ION Television marathon features Emmy-winners Chad Lowe, Cynthia Nixon, Armand Assante, Danny Glover and Sally Field, plus Emmy-nominees Louise Fletcher, Stacy Keach and John Mahoney. Also spotlighted are Ray Liotta, who won an Emmy for his
ER appearance, and Red Buttons and James Woods, who both were nominated for their respective performances.
Aside from
ER, the network has also added
The Dead Zone in its summer primetime slate. The show is based on Stephen King's bestselling novel,
The Dead Zone, and stars
Anthony Michael Hall as a teacher who awakens from a coma to find he has extrasensory abilities and can use them to help others. This thriller series premieres Thursday, June 12 at 10pm and will air directly before
ER, Monday through Wednesday at 9pm beginning June 16.
