Get ready for a family reunion on the hit CBS drama Elementary. The show cast the key role of Sherlock Holmes' brother, Mycroft.

Welsh actor Rhys Ifans (perhaps best known as Dr. Curt Connors, aka The Lizard, in The Amazing Spider-Man) will appear as Mycroft Holmes. He will appear in the season 2 premiere, which will be set in London (with filming on location). Sherlock and Joan will stay with Mycroft at the character's famous Baker Street address, though Sherlock and Mycroft don't get along after a falling out several years earlier.

Other than The Amazing Spider-Man, Ifans has many film credits. This will mark his first American TV series role, though he starred as Captain Hook in Syfy's Neverland miniseries.

Fans of Sherlock Holmes are quite familiar with Mycroft as he is a major part of the British series with Benedict Cumberbatch (where he's played by Mark Gatiss). In the Robert Downey, Jr. film he was played by Stephen Fry.

This will actually be a reunion of sorts for the Holmes brothers. Miller and Ifans starred opposite each other in the 2001 British film Love, Honour and Obey where Miller played a postman who gets roped in the criminal underworld and Ifans played a rival gangster Miller's character didn't get along with. Oddly enough, the film also starred Jude Law, who plays Watson in the Robert Downey, Jr. films.

Elementary season 2 premieres Thursday, September 26 at 10pm on CBS.
