Drake Bell, one of the stars of Nickelodeon's series
Drake & Josh, proved that his charisma goes beyond his onscreen role. Last Friday, he performed at the Jackson County Fair's closing concert, cramming up the grandstand with more than 6,000 shrieking fans.
The
Drake & Josh star and his band entered the spotlight at about 8:30pm. Dressed in tuxedo jackets and top hats, they made the crowd laugh with their antics and enthralled them with their performances, filling the fairgrounds with the ear-splitting screams of thousands of young concertgoers.
Bell, who plays Drake Parker on
Drake & Josh is much like his character on the hit series. Aside from his popularity with the ladies, he is also a gifted musician with a knack for writing songs.
Aside from Bell,
High School Musical's
Corbin Bleu also performed at the Jackson County Fair concert. Bleu had the crowd dancing and waving their arms to the tune of “Deal With It.” Supporters also waved neon signs that read "I Love U Corbin" and "Number 1 Fan" as they sang along to their favorite songs.
"Drake's so cute and funny and Corbin has a good voice," Jennifer Milked, a 10-year-old fan from Albion, said.
"He's so awesome and cute," Mahaylee Lewis, a 10-year-old fan, squealed during Bleu's performance.
Luckily, the night was clear of rains, a big relief after summer storms postponed and shortened shows throughout the week.
