Vigorous and full of energy, Jennifer Carpenter
penetrates the entertainment scene, adding enthusiasm in whatever role she portrays. Her flexibility and artistic drama simply catches the viewers’ attention. Charmingly beautiful, she also lures the viewers with her expressive eyes and sultry body. She has certainly come a long way from her portrayal of teenybopper characters and has gracefully transformed herself to be more suitable for mature roles. At present, she stars on the procedural drama Dexter
Born on December 7, 1979 in Louisville, Kentucky, Jennifer Carpenter studied at Sacred Heart Academy and the prominent Walden Theatre Company in Louisville, Kentucky. She also trained at the Julliard School in New York City and subsequently landed a spot on the Broadway revival of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible
. As an actress, she worked in a number of movies like Ash Tuesday, D.E.B.S, Lethal Eviction,
and White Chicks
, but her most popular film to date is The Exorcism of Emily Rose
where she played the role of the Emily Rose which garnered her an award for Best Frightened Performance on the MTV Movie Awards in 2006.
Playing Debra Morgan on the television series Dexter
allows Carpenter to expose her acting capabilities on the television circuit. She portrays a vice cop who is also Dexter Morgan’s foster sister. She appears to lack confidence in solving crimes but her deficiencies are well complimented by her brother’s cleverness in cracking cases. Fiercely courageous, she willingly takes on challenging assignments and eventually proves that she is highly competent in the muddled police world. Her inclusion on the series definitely makes the plot more interesting to watch.
