Dexter Morgan has been weary from juggling fatherhood and work but it's nothing that a new murder won't fix. Just thinking about his next victim makes him feel recharged already and it all happens in perfect time as Rita takes the kids out of town for the weekend in "Dex Takes A Holiday."
Direction-wise, nothing much happened in last week's episode of Dexter
but it did give us a clue as to how the Trinity Killer works. There's a pattern and so far, we've seen a young woman in a bathtub bleeding to death followed by a mother of two falling to death. For sure, Trinity will be moving on to his third victim, targeting a man whom he bludgeons to death, but Lundy feels like he might be one step ahead of the serial killer already.
LaGuerta has taken Lundy's visitor's pass in Miami Metro since the press is now feasting on the fact that he's back in town taking on a new case, consequently putting the Vacation Murders in the backseat. But Lundy's still feeling good about the Trinity case and it helps that Deb is on his side, even offering to work off hours just to find clues and evidence on Trinity.
Meanwhile, Dexter is still wrestling with the idea of whether he can really handle the pressures of family with work, and with his Dark Passenger urges. And he questions himself even more when he takes on his new victim, a female cop (guest star Christina Cox) who wiped out her whole family in order to be free.
On the other hand, LaGuerta and Batista argue over department protocol, which threatens their professional relationship.
