'Tonight Show' Intern to Guest on 'Days of Our Lives'
Last week, we reported that hunky Joe Penny of Riptide and Jake and the Fatman fame had landed the role of Martino Vitali, father of Tamara Braun's character Ava on Days of Our Lives.  This week, we have news of another new face set to visit Salem next month.

Ross Mathews, better known as Ross the Intern on NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, will appear on Days of Our Lives' May 14 installment as Sami Brady's (Alison Sweeney) new friend.  Read on for spoilers to their fateful encounter at the Salem Health Club.

In the coming Days of Our Lives episode, Sami is at the health club working out her marital frustrations on the treadmill.  Meanwhile, her hubby EJ (James Scott) is also busy working himself out flirting with Sami's least favorite person of the moment, Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker).

As she tries to finish her routine, Sami meets Chris, played by guest-starring Ross Mathews.  Sami tells Chris about the jealousy she feels towards EJ and Nicole sweating it out together in another part of the gym.  Just then, the two head into the sauna and Sami asks Chris to spy on them for her.  Her new best friend willingly obliges, and returns with possibly Sami's worst fears.

Prior to his approaching appearance on the long-running Days of Our Lives and apart from his steady gig on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Mathews also has the distinction of having interviewed some of the biggest stars in his own hysterical fashion.  He's been listed by E! Entertainment among the 30 Most Outrageous Celebrities on television.  He has also appeared NBC's Phenomenon and 1 vs. 100, the Critics' Choice Awards Red Carpet Show and on the fifth edition of Celebrity Fit Club.

Don't miss Ross Mathews' Days of Our Lives guest stint May 14.
