Days of our Lives: January 23 Live Thoughts
Days of our Lives: January 23 Live Thoughts
On Days of our Lives today, Billie (Julie Pinson) demands that Nick (Blake Berris) tell her everything he knows about Ford Decker's disappearance, for Chelsea's sake.

Chelsea (Rachel Melvin) calls Stephanie (Shelley Hennig) to meet at the sorority house to talk about Ford, but Stephanie isn't answering because Max (Darin Brooks) brought breakfast over for her.  At the Theta house, Chelsea wants to talk to all the sisters about what they are going to do about Ford.

Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) talk about Marlena and Claire.  Hope wants to get back in the cop game.

At the hospital, Marlena (Deidre Hall) is back at John's (Drake Hogestyn) bedside.  Dr. Carrington comes in with a syringe full of sodium pentathol, truth serum, that he injects into John.  Hey!  That's the same truth serum that they used on Chuck!  Except on Chuck, the truth serum eventually kills you if you don't take the antidote in time.  Is it too much to ask for Days of our Lives to try and kill off John again?  Anyway, John mentions something about a mission that he's on, and Marlena asks him if the mission is from Stefano.  John immediately gets agitated upon hearing Stefano's name.

The girls turn on Chelsea for her sloppy handling of Ford's body.

Hope tells Bo that she's a damn good cop and wants to go back to the force full-time.

Billie continues to plead with Nick to tell her what happened to Ford.  At that moment, Ford's father Crawford Decker and the dean arrive at the pub and join Billie in questioning Nick.  The dean tells Billie that the police will be stopping by the Theta house today.  He also promises that if there is any evidence of foul play or a cover up, both Billie's and Nick's jobs are on the line.

Max, ever the faithful puppy, offers to do all of Stephanie's chores for her.  Stephanie tells him that she can't think about boys or dating right now after her rape.  He offers to give her a ride back to the sorority house, but she doesn't want to go there today.  Good thing too, because Chelsea is getting skewered by her sisters for wanting to tell the truth.

Marlena asks Dr. Carrington to strongly consider taking John off all his meds completely.

Stephanie explains to Max that she is avoiding the sorority house because she wants to avoid Chelsea's emergency meeting.  Stephanie's main motivation for wanting to keep Ford's death a secret is to protect Max who will likely be implicated the most.  At the pub, Nick doesn't come clean to Billie.  And at the sorority house, Chelsea preaches to the girls that Ford's parents deserve a proper burial.  But Morgan Hollingsworth wants to stick to their story.

Dr. Carrington wants to move John to the psychiatric ward, but Marlena hates the idea.  I, on the other hand, love.  Unfortunately for Marlena, she has no choice but to go along with it.

Chelsea is finally getting through to the sorority girls.  She calls for a vote.

In some "comic" relief, Hope wonders who her new partner will be, making Beauregard Brady just a tad jealous.  He gets himself in slightly hot water with her by calling her "a little detective."  But overall, he's supportive of her decision.  Billie interrupts them to tell Bo that she thinks Chelsea is in really big trouble.  Bo agrees that Chelsea is hiding something.

Stephanie enters the house just as the vote has concluded.  The majority decision is to tell the cops everything, but Stephanie convinces them otherwise, and all the girls except for Chelsea back her up.  Right then, the doorbell rings and detectives from the Salem PD come in to take a look around.  The begin interviewing each of the girls about what they know.

Marlena tries to wake John up.  She asks him more about his mission, but he remains unresponsive.

Next on Days of our Lives: Nick tells Chelsea that they made a big mistake, Bo talks to the investigating detectives, Chloe and Shawn try to find Claire together.
