Days of our Lives: August 8 Live Thoughts
Days of our Lives: August 8 Live Thoughts
Today's episode of Days of our Lives begins right where yesterday's left off.  It's the end of Bo (Peter Reckell) and Hope's (Kristian Alfonso) wedding vow renewal, and Mr. Baker, a newspaper reporter, threatens to expose Bo of corruption.  Caroline (Peggy McCay) wants to know if Victor (John Aniston) knew anything about this.  John Black watches the whole spectacle through a crack in the door.

In Marseilles, our favorite long-lost half-sister, Melanie Layton, has been brought down to the French police station where another American ex-patriate girl accuses her of stealing her diamond bracelet.  The French cop outshines his counterparts in the Salem PD with his ineffectualness and doesn't stop the catfight.  Max (Darin Brooks) finally shows up and has to break the two up.  He has the bracelet in question.

Tony (Thaao Penghlis) and EJ (James Scott) have a nice conversation with the secretly awake Stefano (Joseph Mascolo).  Stefano tells them that he was cognizant of everything that happened around his hospital bed during his incapacitation.  He knows that both of his sons let him down.  He also knows that John (Drake Hogestyn) is his half-brother and has taken over his estate.  He vows vengeance on John and anyone else who betrayed him.  Stefano wants to get back at both EJ and Tony for selling him out to Marlena, but right now, his priority is to make sure that the person responsible for putting him in the hospital, Marlena, pays dearly.  They don't believe that Marlena could have done such a heinous act.

Meanwhile, Marlena (Deidre Hall) succumbed to her assailant, who stuck her with some kind of drug from a hypodermic needle.  She manages to knock the phone down from the table but doesn't have the strength to dial.

At Kiriakis Manor, Morgan is schooling Philip (Jay Kenneth Johnson) in poker, and then challenges him to Mario Kart.  Way to show how "with it" you are, Days of our Lives.  Morgan gets a call from her mother but doesn't answer it.  Morgan is upset that her mother isn't more worried about her father's disappearance.  Morgan explains her parents' backstory, which I am having trouble caring about.  Morgan asks Philip to make some calls to see if there are any new developments on her father's case, and he promises to.  Philip kisses Morgan sexily.

At the wedding, Abe (James Reynolds) and Roman (Josh Taylor) asks the reporter to leave, but Mr. Baker says that he has proof that Bo tampered with evidence in the Hollingsworth case, and the Brady clan erupts in protests.  Mr. Baker begins to read the anonymous email that Hope received, but Abe yells for everyone to stop talking.  Then Mr. Baker says that Paul Hollingsworth is dead.  For some reason, Bo admits that there was a tape recording that he got rid of.  I would advise him not to say anything more, dumbass.  Bo tells everyone that he made a bad decision and will accept responsibility for it.  He also covers for Kate (who was the one who destroyed the tape).  Hope wants to take Bo home, but Roman says that he has no choice but to arrest him.

Kate (Lauren Koslow) and Victor come home from the wedding.  Kate snits at Morgan to go away, but Victor wants to dicuss how the press got wind of Bo's tampering with evidence.  Kate and Victor go inside, and Philip decides to tell Morgan what's going on.  He first says that he had nothing to do with her father's disappearance, which she believes, but then he tells her that someone taped him threatening to kill him.  Morgan screams at him and slaps him in the face.

In Marseilles, Melanie's friend wants to press charges, and the French cop thinks both Melanie and Max are guilty, so he throws them into a cell with a flippant "Bienvenue à France."  Oh, the French!  Melanie decides to turn on the waterworks with an invented story about a dead grandmother, but the cop doesn't buy it.  Stephanie (Shelley Hennig) shows up, shocked to see them behind bars.  It seems like the French just let anyone waltz into their stations, n'est-ce pas?  Stephanie is happy to pay Max's bail, but refuses to let Melanie out.  Unfortunately, Stephanie doesn't have enough money to bail her out.  Melanie demands her phone call, and calls Georges who had to sell his watch to get the bail money.  Stephanie tries to convince Georges not to let Melanie walk all over her.  Unfortunately, Melanie's wiles are too strong from Georges to withstand, and she is sprung from the slammer.  Stephanie bitches the cop out for letting Melanie go, so he puts her in the cell too.

Next on Days of our Lives: EJ wants to help Stefano, Anna wants to tell John about what she knows.
