Dancing with the Stars season four has already reached its finale, leaving its mark with winners Apolo Anton Ohno, Olympic speedskater and professional dance partner Julianne Hough. And with the closing of the season, viewers are left with the question, what will happen next to the Dancing with the Stars contestants? While Ohno is savoring his triumph on the celebrity dance show, and while other participants are landing various projects and acting gigs, Laila Ali has something else in mind that involves surgery and cooking.

So what’s next for Laila Ali? The 29-year old boxer and daughter of the boxing legend Muhammad Ali, has said prior to the Dancing with the Stars season finale that she will be going through a knee surgery immediately after the contest. In addition, she also wants to be the next Martha Stewart or possibly the next Rachael Ray.

“It has always been a dream of mine to have my own show, which could include cooking, fitness and other household components. In fact, I just came out with a fitness/cardio DVD with Sugar Ray Leonard. My show would feature healthy food with fresh ingredients that taste great. My family is from Louisiana, so I do home-style food with a healthy twist! Anything unnecessary, like butter, I take out of the recipe,” she has said to News Week.

Ali has also mentioned that, apart from boxing, she has always had an interest in cooking. “I taught myself how to cook when I was about 10. One of my favorite dishes is seafood gumbo. I grew up with my grandpa and grandma making it, but now everybody loves my gumbo the best: the texture of the meat, the shrimp, the flavor, the thickness. I could win a worldwide gumbo contest. Trust me. I also learned a lot about interior design from being around my mother, who went to design school. I decorated my own home and even some of my friends' homes. Anything is possible if you just put passion into it,” she has added.
