Any Dancing with the Stars fan knows that a stint on the reality competition is serious business. Contestants are challenged during their time on the show, especially if they want to do well. It's a lesson that Property Brothers star Drew Scott is already beginning to learn. The start of DWTS season 25 is a week away but Drew is already going through some transformations, including losing a sizable chunk of weight.

"I haven't been this trim in probably 15-20 years and I feel great," Scott told People.com. "Who knew dancing was such an amazing workout!"

"I've lost 27 pounds already," Drew explained in a separate interview with US Weekly. While the main cause of the weight loss is obviously the exercise he's doing as he practices for the show, "I was just told to do cardio and stretching and it's just shedding," he explained, there's more to it than just working out.

Drew explained that while on the show he has been trying to eat healthier. Typically Drew eats very rushed and unhealthy meals, specifically when filming his show with twin brother, Jonathan. Now he has a whole new diet.

"Upon agreeing to do DWTS, I started cutting out any of the bad foods ... reduced the size of meals I was eating and started doing more regular weight training, cardio and yoga," he explained.

Drew's biggest comfort food that he's missing most in his new diet is pizza. It's for this reason (and a couple others) that his twin Jonathan is glad he isn't involved. In his own interview with People, Jonathan explained that he was simply too busy to compete on Dancing with the Stars. However, the show did want both brothers.

"If I didn't have 17 construction projects on the go right now that I can't step away from, I would be there. They wanted us both to do it -- they wanted Drew and I to go head-to-head," he explained.

Jonathan did joke that he might show up halfway through the show, dressed in Drew's costume, and try to win the whole thing. Jonathan said, "I'm much more relaxed and I feel like I've got a little bit of a natural rhythm ... I wonder if the judges would even notice -- we should try it! Not even for the real competition, we should see if I walked out in the costume if the judges could even tell the difference."

As much as Jonathan believes he has natural rhythm, hopefully Drew will be able to advance far beyond that point on the show. Drew has already showed off some of his dancing skills. ABC has released a promo, embedded below, that has (most of) the cast showing off their moves with their professional partners.

It's all very quick but it really does appear that there will be some great dancers and some dreadfully awkward ones this season. (Drew, for now, appears to be somewhere in the middle.)

But what do you think? Are you ready for the new season? Will Drew do well? Do you think Jonathan and Drew should swap, even as a gag? Who are you rooting for this season?
