According to
People Magazine, former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay will withdraw from competition on
Dancing with the Stars during tonight's live results show due to injury.
The magazine says that DeLay has stress fractures in both feet, and that doctors and producers on
Dancing with the Stars told him not to perform during last night's performance, but he went through with it anyway.
ABC refused to comment on the story, so there is no word yet on how this will affect the results show. Will someone else still be eliminated, or will DeLay's withdrawal count as tonight's
Dancing with the Stars elimination? Due to the size of this season's cast, producers promised several dual eliminations during the middle of the season, but maybe one of those will be cut down.
Despite lots of confusion when Tom DeLay was first announced as a contestant on season 9 of
Dancing with the Stars, he proved in the first three weeks to be a crowd favorite, willing to accept the general ridiculousness of the situation with the same joy that Steve Wozniak and Cloris Leachman did before him.
This will also spell the end for Cheryl Bruke, who once again falls short after her back-to-back wins in seasons 2 and 3.
The
Dancing with the Stars result show airs tonight at 9pm on ABC, and we'll be watching with live updates to find out what happens.
