Dancing with the Stars
aired a special two hour episode on Monday and promptly dominated the ratings. On a night when almost every show slipped in the ratings from its premiere, Dancing with the Stars
remained strong, easily winning Monday night's ratings crown. CSI: Miami
was the number two show in all the land, handily taking down the 10pm time slot. Two and a Half Men
was the go away comedy champion of the night, receiving 13 million viewers. However, the biggest story of the night might be Heroes
losing 15% of its season premiere viewers.
Highest Rated Show of the Night: Dancing with the Stars
– 20.5 million viewers
8pm Time Slot Winner: Dancing with the Stars
9pm Time Slot Winner: Dancing with the Stars
10pm Time Slot Winner: CSI: Miami
– 14.8 million viewers
At 8pm, NBC's Chuck
came in second place with roughly 8 million viewers, down about a million from last week's series premiere. That's not something to really worry about, seeing as 8 million is a solid audience, and Chuck
does well in the key demos. How I Met Your Mother
and The Big Bang Theory
also hovered around the 8 million mark, both down a little bit from their premieres. I still can't understand why How I Met Your Mother
doesn't get more viewers. It's only the best sitcom on television.
lost fifteen percent of its viewers from last week, ending up with about 12 million on the night. That's not catastrophic, but it's still troubling for NBC, who has been hyping up Heroes
to a ridiculous degree since the summer began. Hopefully, this is not an ongoing trend. At 10pm, The Bachelor
ended up with about 10 million viewers, down a little bit from its premiere. In third was NBC's Journeyman
with 8.4 million people tuning in, down 10 percent from last week.
