Will
Dancing with the Stars feature two Olympic ice skaters in a row? Johnny Weir, who should be right at home in the world of sequins and spray tans that is
Dancing with the Stars, tells
Hollywood Life that he's not only "ready" to follow the footsteps of Evan Lysacek, he'll take Karina Smirnoff with him.
Jake Pavelka to Play Himself (Basically) on 'Drop Dead Diva'Twenty-five-year-old Weir, who
rightly predicted Nicole Scherzinger's win over Lysacek last season, adds that he met Smirnoff a few weeks ago and sort of struck a deal. "She was like, 'Johnny, you are the perfect height for me. Let's dance.' So it's on. I've chosen my partner, I'm ready," he says.
Smirnoff, who was absent last season reportedly due to conflicts with estranged ex-fiance Maksim Chmerkovskiy, says she thinks Weir's "drama" is perfect for
Dancing with the Stars.
"I'm a big fan of Johnny," says Smirnoff, 32. "His heart, his guts, he's got balls in every routine and I love that. I think for
Dancing With the Stars, you gotta have not only determination, but you gotta have that drama, that deeper side of you, and Johnny has it! I'm rooting for him to be on the next season of
Dancing With the Stars."
There is already a
Team Weirnoff page on Twitter.
If Weir indeed comes to the ABC show, he'll be the third ice skater on the show after season 6 champ Kristi Yamaguchi and last season's runner-up Evan Lysacek.
