Heather Mills has been keeping a diary about her experiences on
Dancing with the Stars. Here are a few selected clips for you:
On rehearsing for the waltz:
"Jonathan was in a quandary and wanted to change the beginning of the routine because every time I stepped backward, I would scrape his Achilles tendon with the heel of my shoe. But then when I stepped forward, I'd make his toes black and blue, not realizing my artificial leg was standing on his foot whilst I inquired why he was screwing his face up."
"Apart from how technical the waltz is, the thing I found the hardest was the romance. Every time Jonathan asked me to fake a look of love, I would burst into hysterical laughter. He found this most disconcerting, but I explained it was nothing personal. It's just hard to act in love with a newly found friend. I eventually imagined my daughter's (Beatrice, 3) face and managed to pull something a lot better together for rehearsal."
Heather's apparently concerned that the tabloids might accuse her of a romance with her partner – before the show started, she was rumoured to have demanded to be paired with a gay partner, but had to settle for the married Jonathan Roberts instead.
On seeing Paulina Porizkova eliminated:
"Of all the contestants, she was the last I wanted to see go. You rarely meet a supermodel without an attitude who is also caring and funny; the public has lost out big time. She has such a dry sense of humor and intelligence — what a package. Hey ho, you can't have it all in life. She handled it well. The first to go has to be the hardest moment."
After the first three weeks of training for Dancing with the Stars, Mills said she was "still in shock that I can follow someone else's dance steps." She says her pro dancing partner Jonathan Roberts looked dismayed on first seeing he was partnered with her, but that "I didn't have the heart to tell him I also had a pelvic problem after being fitted with two metal plates to hold the pelvis in place. Maybe I'll save that one 'til later."
