Dancing with the Stars 7: Top 10 Performance Rankings
Tonight, Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris waited until the last moments of tonight's Dancing with the Stars performance show before giving us the update about Misty May-Treanor's injury and her future on the show. I don't want to leave you in suspense, so I'll begin with that bit of news.

Misty May-Treanor and Maksim Chmerkovskiy were supposed to perform the jive tonight, but in rehearsal on Friday, Misty hurt herself and ended up rupturing her Achilles tendon. This is a very serious injury, and she's scheduled to have surgery tomorrow. She and Maks are officially out of the competition; however, there is no word yet on whether anyone will be replacing them. I think some BuddyTV members might be on to something, however. A few of you have been suggesting that there probably won't be any eliminations this week, so be sure to watch the Dancing with the Stars results show tomorrow.

The show must go on, however, and here is the breakdown of the other nine teams.

Brooke Burke and Derek Hough – 28

Viennese waltz, scores: 9+10+9=28. Brooke and Derek continued their reign of dominance this week with a beautiful Viennese waltz, earning the first perfect 10 of this season. They seemed to have had a rough time in rehearsal, tensions flying high, but they made up before the performance and they performed better than they ever have.

Warren Sapp and Kym Johnson – 25

Viennese waltz, scores: 9+8+8=25. Warren proves over and over again that his size is not a handicap at all. He is quick and light on his feet, but as his waltz proved tonight, he's also got a lot of romance under his belt. Bravo, Warren!

Maurice Greene and Cheryl Burke – 24

Jive, scores: 8+8+8=24. I've been disappointed with Maurice so far on Dancing with the Stars, but I'm glad that we are finally beginning to see the potential that I knew he had all along. Maurice and Cheryl were so fun and free in their jive tonight. This style really suited him.

Lance Bass and Lacey Schwimmer – 22

Viennese waltz, scores: 8+7+7=22. Len has made tirade after tirade for Lance and Lacey's less than traditional outlook on ballroom dancing, so they finally decided to do something about it. They danced an impeccably traditional Viennese waltz tonight, and they danced it beautifully. I thought that they should have gotten high scores than they got, but I suppose it's still an improvement.

Toni Braxton and Alec Mazo – 22

Viennese waltz, scores: 8+7+7=22. This week, it was Toni and Alec's turn to take some risks. They donned 18th century-inspired costumes and rocked out. Of course, Len didn't approve of the gimmicky nature of the performance, but they still did decently in the leaderboard.

Cody Linley and Julianne Hough – 21

Jive, scores: 7+7+7=21. As expected, Cody and Julianne delivered a high-intensity, high-energy jive full of youthful exuberance. It was very entertaining; however, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli thought that Cody faltered in the second half.

Susan Lucci and Tony Dovolani – 21

Jive, scores: 7+7+7=21. Susan and Tony opened the show with the night's very first performance. Susan turned her ankle, requiring her to wear a bandage. Perhaps because of her injury, she danced tentatively tonight, but I must say that she has improved greatly since the first week.

Rocco DiSpirito and Karina Smirnoff – 20

Viennese waltz, scores: 7+7+6=20. Rocco seems like such a nice, humble guy, but he can't really dance. He tried so hard this week, but he couldn't really overcome his awkwardness.

Cloris Leachman and Corky Ballas – 16

Jive, scores: 6+5+5=16. Cloris and Corky brought the funny back to their performance tonight, but the judges were all left speechless – and not in a good way – afterwards. It seemed like everyone in the studio audience was having a grand old time watching them dance, but they are still far and away, the worst team on Dancing with the Stars.
