'CSI': Titus Welliver Is This Season's Big Bad
Suddenly, I got a little more excited about this season of CSI.

Titus Welliver -- you might know him from his roles on Sons of Anarchy, The Good Wife and as the Man in Black on Lost -- has signed up for a major recurring role in the CBS crime drama, TVLine reports.

He plays John, a military contractor whose company gets caught up in a recent arms theft. He's cooperative, actually, but Russell (Ted Danson) and the team will sense that he knows more that he's letting in on.

His character will be the focal point of what is perhaps this season's major storyline -- and it perfectly ties in to Marg Helgenberger's departure from the show as well. We reported earlier that The X Files' Annabeth Gish will play Catherine's friend Laura; that character's husband is Welliver's character, John. And I'm assuming the two FBI agents that will also appear in the show -- played by Grant Show and Matt Lauria -- will investigate the case John's involved in.

Welliver will debut on CSI's November 23 episode. Start the countdown.

What do you think of the decision to cast Welliver? Me, I'm liking this big bad already.
