Last season, Criminal Minds concluded its tumultuous third season with the thought that one of the show's seven FBI profilers will explode in a storyline involving the investigation of a series of random shootings in New York City.  Obviously, this was all part of the show's big cliffhanger secret so viewers will have to stay tuned next season when the series reveals who and why.

The agonizing wait is finally over because tonight Criminal Minds returns with all the answers fans have been waiting for.  Read on for a preview of the fourth season opener.

In the fourth season premiere of Criminal Minds called “Mayhem,” we get a taste of the aftermath of the bombing in New York City as we see two BAU (Behavioral Analysis Unit) team members injured.  Hotch struggles to keep Kate alive while the rest of the team hunts for terrorists who may be responsible for the mayhem and may be planning for a bigger attack.

Created by Jeff Davis, Criminal Minds is a procedural thriller about the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Unit, which profiles criminals to solve crimes.  Cast members returning for the fourth season include Thomas Gibson as Aaron Hotchner, Joe Mantegna as David Rossi, A.J. Cook as Jennifer Jareau, Kirsten Vangsness as Penelope Garcia, Matthew Gray Gubler as Spencer Reid, Paget Brewster as Emily Prentiss, and Shemar Moore as Derek Morgan.

Guest starring on tonight's episode is Michael Steger, who appears as the character Sam.  Steger, who currently plays Navid Shirazi on 90210, is also credited for NCIS, The Winner, The Man Under the Tree, Hannah Montana and The Cheetah Girls: One World.

Additionally, Sienna Guillory, who previously guest starred in the third season finale, reprises her role as Kate, Jack McGee appears as Detective Brustin, while Moe Daniels guest stars as Lisa Bartleby.
