You need to watch these videos.
This week's Community
, "Regional Holiday Music," is the show's Christmas episode. It's a musical. A musical that parodies Glee
. The result is an absolutely astounding romp through lyrical insanity. And the videos featured in this article -- which include a Danny Pudi/Donald Glover rap about Christmas espionage -- show just how gloriously crazy the holidays can be on Community
.Note to extremely observant readers: Earlier, this was a video that featured Alison Brie's Annie singing to Joel McHale's Jeff. For reasons unknown, NBC has removed that video and replaced it with a selection of related footage. If you missed the earlier one, do keep an eye out for it when Community airs on Thursday at 8pm. You won't be sorry.

You might want to watch that again. And again...
But perhaps you do not have time for repeated viewings of the musical genius displayed during this bizarre, soon-to-be holiday classic. That's OK. You can watch it during the full episode on Thursday. In the meantime, remind yourself of some of the highlights:
- "I guess I just like liking things." Awesome.
- Nice call-out to Troy's oft-neglected family religion.
- Does James Bond cry during sad Christmas specials? I suppose he might.
- "I am Jehovah's most secret Witness." Again awesome.
- The random dancing girls are a nice touch.
- Moments like this make you wonder why exactly Community doesn't have a lot more rapping as an integral part of the show.
- I suddenly have an urge to check out Childish Gambino, Donald Glover's spare-time musical act. If it's as good as this, it's worth it.
Following the links in the video, there are interview videos that you can watch as well. But be warned: Some of them contain fairly extensive spoilers about the actual plot of "Regional Holiday Music."
The Troy-Abed rap is but one of several musical numbers (the lamentably-removed Annie song was an ode to some strange mixing of Betty Boop and Marilyn Monroe) that make up "Regional Holiday Music." With a rap, a gospel choir and more than one mash-up, not even Glee
can top the musical offerings of this one Community
And it shouldn't try. Because this might just be the single best musical episode of television since Buffy the Vampire Slayer
