Celebrity Rehab: Dr. Drew Weighs in on Jeff Conaway's 911 Call

Last week's episode of
Celebrity Rehab saw tempers flaring up as participants Gary Busey and
Jeff Conaway argued about who's going to sit in the front seat of the van, which led to an even worse heated dispute and physical brawl. But before that happened, we saw Jeff in his most desperate effort yet as he called 911 to inform the authorities that he's being held against his will.
Clearly, Jeff doesn't want to play “the rehab game anymore.” But Dr. Drew hasn't given up hope just yet.
“He does treat it like a game,” Dr. Drew said of Jeff's opinion about
Celebrity Rehab. “I do have a crazy, deep affection for him. We get more conflicted as the season goes along, but we always come back around to each other. T hat said, I'm never sure when Jeff is acting. I'm never sure when he's amplifying his emotions. In the end, I'm not clear what's motivating him. It's so confusing. What I know for sure is that I'm willing to get in there and struggle with him.”
On the other hand, Jeff explains that the reason he called 911 was because he just wanted to spice things up on
Celebrity Rehab, well sort of.
“Things were getting pretty boring. It was part showman and part- I really wanted to leave. I wanted to go home and take my meds,” Jeff told
Entertainment Tonight in an interview.
Despite all the drama he has caused on
Celebrity Rehab, Jeff acknowledges the efforts of the famed addiction specialist.
“I think he does an amazing job. I think he's a brilliant man [though] I don't agree with him with everything,” Jeff said of Dr. Drew.
"My life is pretty much an open book," Jeff added. "If I can help somebody avoid the mess that I made and the horrors that come from using drugs -- it's all nice in the beginning, but afterwards it's not so nice."
