No Castle Dad After All?

First up, it looks like we've got some bad news. Despite published reports that the show was going to introduce Castle's pop in a two-part February episode, it looks like that may not happen after all. TV Line reports that show boss Andrew Marlowe now says, "It's certainly something that we're thinking about seriously and trying to find the right angle in on."

For now the daddy story is "not definitely" going to happen for February sweeps. So what are we going to get instead? Have no fear, Castle fans, Marlowe also says that the writing team is working on a different storyline full of "big tension," "personal stakes" and "fun twists and turns."

Well if we can't have Castle's dad, then I guess that's nearly as good. I sure hope they give us that storyline soon though. I mean seriously, how awesome will it be to meet Castle's father?

"Interesting moral territory."

Next up, we do have some better news. Well, at least for us fans, maybe not so much for Beckett. TV Guide reports that Michael Dorn will be coming back this season as Beckett's therapist. Seeing as how the last time she saw him, she'd just been shot, nearly died and was struggling to hide the fact that she knew about Castle's little "I love you" speech, chances are things are going to get tough for her again.

It's not any issue with Castle that sends her onto the doc's couch though. Instead, her stress will be caused by another run-in with Senator Bracken. Creator Andrew Marlowe says, "A murder seems to lead to his doorstep and Kate thinks this is her opportunity to finally get the man who was responsible for her mother's murder behind bars."

As if that's not enough, it looks like Beckett may once again find herself out of control. "Nothing is as it seems," he says. "The case leads us into really interesting moral territory for our character."

Ooh, that sounds very interesting. Could it be that Beckett may find herself with the opportunity to take out the man who was responsible for her mother's murder? But will the opportunity be something along the lines of revenge or an arrest?

What do you think of this news about Castle? How bummed are you that we won't be getting to meet Castle's father soon? What do you think Beckett's moral dilemma could be?

Castle airs on Monday nights at 10pm on ABC.
