Paola Turbay, who was born on November 29, 1970 in Bogotá, Colombia, was educated at the University of Los Andes, where she earned a degree in Psychology. Shortly after her graduation, she moved to Florida to study theater at the Acting Studio in Hollywood. She then spent the next 20 years of her life in the entertainment industry, and subsequently won the title of Miss Columbia in 1991. Turbay then gained further recognition in Columbian television, thus appearing in magazines, musicals and talk shows. She also hosted some of Columbia's broadcasts such as the Miss Columbia Beauty Pageant, the Simon Bolivar Journalism Awards, Miss Universe Pageant, Grammy Awards and the Academy Awards. Turbay has also appeared in television series such as Noticias Calientes where she played Maria Ximena Orozco and Las Noches de Luciana where she played Luciana Rivas. In 2007, she was cast for the role of Isabel Vega in the CBS series, Cane.
Isabel Vega is played by Paola Turbay on the CBS television series, Cane. Daughter of the wealthy Pancho Duque, Isabel is the wife of Alex Vega, an heir to the the Duque sugar and rum business. Alex is also an adopted son of Pancho, who favors Alex over his biological and first born son, Frank. Isabel was married when she was only 17 years old, and has detached herself from the bustle of their family business to focus on her three children.
