After the recap, Cane opens with Stevie Wonder singing “Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing”. Irony? This episode has Alex Vega worrying 'bout lots of things like his pregnant wife, his son that just enlisted in the military, his new job, the Samuels and the murder he had committed last week.

In the morning, Alex is congratulated at the Duque plant by the workers, Pancho and Frank. Frank finally congratulates Alex and pretends that things are okay between them. While there, Alex is confronted by Miguel, Santos' friend, who attempts to extort more money from him. Alex threatens Miguel in return and later goes to Santos asking him about this problem. Santos reassures Alex that he, Santos, is not going to be a problem.

Alex told Frank about his plans to build a sugar ethanol refinery with a government subsidy and Frank runs and tells Ellis. This woman has Frank whupped. She encourages his disgruntlement and tells him to take back what's his. She then shares the information with her dad, Joe.

Frank begins his plan to undermine Alex by talking to Henry about Alex's grandiose plans to spend $100 million of the family money on this plant that's not guaranteed to pan out. Henry is upset because he'd rather spend money on a new club or VIP room in his existing club. We learn that we're going to be treated in this episode of Cane to the music of Daddy Yankee.

Isabel is upset about Jaime's enlistment and she badgers Alex into talking to him. Amalia is upset about Pancho leaving control of the company to Alex instead of his own blood, namely Frank, and she reprimands him. He tells her that Frank is not ready to take control, but when she asks him why he couldn't wait until he was, Pancho still doesn't tell her about the doctor's prognosis.

Santos confronts Miguel about the shakedown and tells him to back off. At the Vega home, the family opens gifts received in congratulations for Alex's new job. Someone sends a live scorpion and it bites Isabel. Alex goes to the plant and beats the crap out of Miguel, thinking that he sent it.

The next morning, under the guise of concern for her bite, Frank sows more seeds of dissent by telling Isabel about Alex's plan and wondering why Alex hadn't told her already.

Alex takes Frank along when he makes his pitch to Senator Barnes for the plant subsidy. The senator is impressed by the plan especially when Alex tells of his ties to Detroit and the auto industry. Alex also guarantees that the Duques will put up $50 Million for the plant. Of course, Frank runs back to Ellis with everything said in the meeting.

At a Duque family dinner, a meeting is called and Frank tells about Alex's plan to spend the $50M for this plant while whining that his plan to sell to the Samuels would have brought $50M into the family coffers instead of that money going out. While the meeting is going on, Alex gets a call from Santos alerting him that Miguel has disappeared. And we see Miguel with the Samuels telling them all about the Quinonez murder and telling them where the body is.

At Henry's club, we get to hear Daddy Yankee and we see that Alex's daughter, Katie has not only snuck in, but she's under the influence of Ecstasy. She gets her uncle Henry to cover for her with her mother, who is also in the club.

Joe Samuels calls a meeting with Alex and tells him that unless he backs off his plans for his refinery, Joe will go to the police and tell them what he's learned. He warns that the good senator won't be so impressed once he finds out he's dealing with a murderer. Alex calls his bluff and tells him no deal.

Alex's police friend, Grasso, calls him the next day and tells him that Quinonez has disappeared and alerts him that the police received a tip that Quinonez' body was buried on Samuels' land and that Alex's name was brought up as having something to do with it.

At the same time that Alex is with Isabel at the doctor's office looking at their new baby in an ultrasound, we see the police digging on the Samuels' land with Joe Samuels looking on. We get a scene of the doctor explaining body parts and then a scene of the police finding something in the bottom of a big hole ... not Quinonez' body, but the body of a pig. Grasso calls Alex and tells him, but also warns him to watch himself.

Santos catches up with Miguel and tricks him into approaching his open trunk then knocks him out and puts him into it. Alex meets up with him and instead of having Miguel killed, he has arranged to have Miguel smuggled back into Cuba.

Alex gets good news about the plant subsidy and then calls Santos to ensure that Miguel is gone and to make sure that Quinonez' body is hidden so well that even Santos won't be able to find it. Santos takes the body to the Everglades and, after attracting crocs, dumps it.

In a very touching scene, we see Alex and Jaime finally having their talk. Alex doesn't scold him at all, just makes sure that it's something that Jaime really wants to do. Alex gives Jaime a very special medal to keep him safe and tells him that's all he wants for him ... for him to be safe. Tears all around. Jaime asks his dad if he'll be able to kill. Alex looks pensive and tells his son that when the time comes, he'll do what needs to be done.

Next time on Cane, Alex confronts Frank about his relationship with Ellis, and in turn Frank confronts Alex with his knowledge of the murder.
