American actor David Duchovny was born on August 7, 1960 in New York City. He’s famous for his starring role of Fox Mulder on the cult classic sci-fi thriller series
The X-Files , where he bagged the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor. The son of a Jewish publicist and a Lutheran immigrant from Scotland, he attended Princeton University and earned a Master’s degree in English Literature from Yale. David Duchovny has appeared in a number of television series such as The Red Shoe Diaries, Twin Peaks, and
Sex and the City . He also acted in the movies Zoolander, Full Frontal, and Evolution.
Hank Moody is portrayed by David Duchovny in Showtime’s upcoming television series Californication. A famed novelist, he moves from New York City to Los Angeles after his lauded new book is optioned in a deal. However, his story later mutates into a badly-written romantic comedy, triggering a serious case of writer’s block. Hank is trying to salvage his floundering career with the help of his best friend and agent, while trying to raise his preteen daughter at the same time and pining for his ex-girlfriend. But in spite of the responsibilities he faces, he still enjoys life and all the vices it has to offer, such as liquor, drugs and loose women.
