It's been a blood bath at USA this week as a trio of shows have been axed.

On Wednesday, freshman drama Common Law was cancelled after one season. On Thursday, the mediator drama Fairly Legal was cancelled after two seasons. And today the Sigourney Weaver-led "limited series event" Political Animals was also denied a potential second season.

These cancellations are a bit surprising considered how infrequently USA abandons anything. In the past five years the only USA shows to end are Monk, In Plain Sight, The Start Wife and Law and Order: Criminal Intent.

All of the other shows that have aired or premiered over the past five years are still on the network. This list of wildly successful shows includes Necessary Roughness, Suits, Covert Affairs, White Collar, Royal Pains, Psych and Burn Notice.

In addition to the cancellations, USA is also looking to extend its longest-running drama. The network is nearing a deal to renew Burn Notice for a 13-episode season 7. Burn Notice will return for the second half of its sixth season on Thursday, November 8 at 9pm.
