Thanks to an article from the frighteningly well-connected TVLine, we now have the title of the season 6 finale of Bones: "The Change in the Game."

Tantalizing, no?

Granted, that's pretty much it for the spoilers, so we don't have much to go on. Stephen Nathan, one of the show's executive producers, did confirm that the titular "game" is, in fact, bowling. But ... "That's not the only game that will be changed," he added.

Could the "game" be the Brennan and Booth relationship? Could they finally be going for it?

Let the speculation begin! Since the Bones producers are on record as saying that a Brennan-Booth relationship was not off the table for this season, we're not talking about an impossible occurrence. Also, we've already had the teases of a brain tumor dream ("The End in the Beginning") and a flashback ("The Parts in the Sum of the Whole"), so what other excuses are the Bones writers going to come up with to keep the soul-mates apart?

Whether the game-changing moment ends in love or not will probably be foreshadowed by the upcoming episodes. Released promos and photos definitely show Booth and Brennan spending time together, as they always have. But will we see something else?

It's actually possible. Thanks to the events of "The Blackout in the Blizzard," we know (and, more importantly, they know) that both are willing. Booth's just not ready. OK, so we have to give the guy an episode or two to get past that whole Hannah situation, but then? Barring yet another love interest for one or both of the Bones stars, there should not be anything in the way.

Forward movement could happen. Our fondest 'shipping desires could be met. Love could rule the day at Bones.

Or, you know, not.

Do you think Brennan and Booth will get together in the season finale? Is there a different "game" to be changed? Are you sure you even want this relationship to happen after so much time? Let us know by leaving a comment!
