This year's Bones panel at Comic Con treated us to insights about season 8 as well as some musing on where Bones and Booth's physical relationship should go.

Coming in Season 8 of Bones (Spoilers)

- Season 8 will start 3 months after Bones left Booth. He's been looking for her, but the longer he goes without finding her, the angrier he gets.

- Ryan O'Neal will definitely be in the first episode of the season.

- Brennan will come back relatively early in the season, but there will be a lot of fallout from her absence.

- Cam will have a new love interest, and fans of Bones already know who it is.
 
- Viewers will learn more about Booth's mother.

- A ballroom dancing episode will appear in season 8. Does this mean Booth and Bones will trip the light fantastic? If so, will Bones be a surprisingly good dancer?

- There will be an episode done entirely from the point of view of a skull. Boreanaz is a bit too excited about this.

- In response to fan disappointment at not seeing the Booth/Bones hookup onscreen, Boreanaz suggests a tryst where Booth is placed on top of a washing machine. He brings this up several times during the panel. I think he really, really wants to do that scene. Or he just appreciates household appliances.



I Want...

The actors had a lively time talking about what they'd like to see on their show. Some suggestions were more fantastical than others:

- David Boreanaz would like to be involved in espionage. It's unclear whether he wants to be on the good side or bad side. What's clear is that he wants to go around shouting, "Kill! Shoot! Run! Pass!" (YouTube a clip of Boreanaz shouting in an unidentifiable accent if you want a good belly laugh).

- Emily Deschanel was scheduled to direct an episode last season, but was sidelined by her pregnancy. She'd still like to direct, but is in no hurry while her baby is still so young.

- Both Deschanel and Boreanaz would love to revisit Buck and Wanda.

- When asked about revisiting his role on Angel, Boreanaz states his love for the character and tries to auction himself off for a role reprisal, then reminds everyone, "I'm on Bones!" He also muses on the recent rise in popularity of vampires, but is confused by Vampire Diaries. "I don't get it. Everyone carries around a diary? I'm confused."

- Going undercover in Spain or Canada sounds like a good idea, but it's highly unlikely.

It's clear that Boreanaz is the class clown of the Bones crew, and it suits him. A good season is ahead for Bones fans.
