Canadian actor Kyle Schmid was born on August 24, 1984 in Mississauga, Ontario. He began his career as a model, appearing in print and television commercials. Later, he began auditioning in films, and eventually earned a small role in the action thriller Spill—his debut. His first television role was in the television series I Was a Sixth Grade Alien, as the bully Jordan Lynch. He started to break out with two television movies, both in 2000: Alley Cats Strike, where he played the lead alongside Kaley Cuoco; and The Sandy Bottom Orchestra, which earned several awards, and gave him a Young Artist Award nomination.
Schmid then appeared in several other films and television programs, mostly oriented towards a teen audience. His television credits include guest roles in Degrassi: The Next Generation, Strange Days at Blake Holsey High and 1-800-Missing; television movies such as The Cheetah Girls; and films such as The Pacifier, The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, and A History of Violence. In 2005, he joined the cast of the short-lived series Beautiful People, where he played the role of Evan Frasier.
In 2007, he got a lead role in the television series Blood Ties. He played the role of Henry Fitzroy, the legitimate heir of King Henry VIII who sacrificed his mortal life to be with the woman he loves. 450 years later, he works as a graphic novelist and, because of his knowledge of the supernatural, becomes the partner and bodyguard of Vicki Nelson (Christine Cox), with whom he falls in love with.
